U12's Dronfield v Chesterfield Panthers

After a few difficult games, Dronfield picked up a win on the road today to boost confidence going into the final stage of the season. We'd lacked energy and competitiveness across the squad over the last few weeks; the target today was to win the small battles, in particular staying alert to 50:50 opportunities and winning the race to the ruck.

A late venue change saw our U13’s away to local rivals Chesterfield Panthers for a late kick off this morning. Our hosts were certainly well warmed up and fired up to revenge our NLD cup victory against them earlier in the season.

Dronfield vs Old Crossleyans

A very wet pitch and windy weather set the scene for a scrappy game between Dronfield and Old Crossleyans, with the visitors needing a win to boost their chances of survival. Dronfield made a couple of changes to their starting XV with Luke Isham and Josh Addison promoted following their showings from the bench the previous week.

Dronfield U13’s welcomed Sheffield RUFC to a muddy Gosforth Fields this morning. In a highly competitive game the boys put in an enormous shift with only 14 players available against a Sheffield squad of 24.

There were high hopes from Dronfield this week for this additional friendly match against their neighbours Rotherham Phoenix. Not long before Christmas, Dronfield had lost in a tight brawl against Phoenix so the lads were keen for a better outcome.

U10s Dronfield v Matlock

Home Game - Matlock 11/2 A fantastic Sunday morning of Rugby with Dronfield U10’s taking on Matlock. Whilst the coaches may have been mildly jaded after a late night at HQ the boys and Esme showed no sign of tiredness taking on a physical Matlock team.

U12s Matlock v Dronfield

An away trip to Matlock for the U13’s this morning. The hosts looking to avenge our victory against them in the NLD Cup started hard and fast with Dronfield seemingly suffering a confidence hangover from last weeks defeat to Tigers. Matlock were much quicker to the breakdown, jackling for turnovers and ripping ball in the tackle. Quick ball found their pace out wide and their huge forwards proved to be decisive powering over at close range.
