Opening fixture of the season for the U13’s away at Ashbourne Sunday morning. An outstanding performance by all players with the team running out 12 tries to 2 victors. Ashbourne started strong with a quick opening try, however Dronfield’s tackling tenacity by both forwards and backs soon changed the narrative. Powerful ball carrying and quick rucking by the forwards and excellent passing along the line finding the wingers by all including some lovely off loads pinned the hosts back for the majority of the game. Debut tries for Charlie earning a player of the day award, along with Shay for playing well in multiple positions he was asked to move to.
