An inexperienced yet spirited Chesterfield side visited this morning in glorious conditions at Gosforth.

The target for the squad has been to narrow the defensive line through hard carries, and get the ball to space created on the edge. We saw some fantastic moments today: turnovers, tip-ons within the pods, scrum turnovers, quick passes to edges and a resolute defensive effort.
Great to see a calmness with ball in hand and Charlie hunting for the ball at 9 to ensure continuity: look at the final video!

Fantastic attitude and spirit meaning he won his battles all game. Several tries and no leaks in his defence.

Great work rate today to challenge at the breakdown (see vid 1) and gave several tip ons to guys hutting gaps (also below!) Great to see big guys with hands.

Always makes yards, however, an extremely high work rate at the breakdown. Opposition were under pressure due to the energy brought.
